Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman tiller, rear tine tiller, tines

Question
I have a Craftsman 6.0 hp rear tine tiller with counter rotating tines 14 inch tine width model 917.294260. the transmission locked up so the tines will not turn, it moves forward fine or in reverse but the tines will not turn.sheer pins in place. can I open up the transmission and fix it myself?

Most Times this Problem is the Chain Inside the Transmission has Broken. Go to the Site Addy that I Provide and Look at the Diagram of the Transmission. If After Seeing the Diagram, you Feel you can Proceed with this Repair, then I will Assist by Answering Any Questions you May have During the Repair Process. The Site Addy is, http://www3.sears.com/ and Enter the Model Numbers in the Search Box at the Upper Left and Click Go. Then Visually Verify the Equipment and Click Continue.
