Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): clutch return spring, 4/21/07, return spring, mechanical problems

Question
John,  I emailed you 4/21/07 about the clutch return spring on a Craftsman mower.   You told me exactly where it was supposed to be & I located (most of) it in the front section of the mower by the exhaust.  The end had broken off.   I got a new one & had a devil of a time stretching the spring enough to hook it on.   Don't laugh!   I hooked it in the front slot, ran a rope through the hook on the other end & ran both ends up over the axle & out the back of the mower, tied a knot, put a large screwdriver through it & pulled as far as I could & tied it off, got under the mower & finally got the hook through the place it was supposed to go.   Where there's a will, there's a way!
Thank you SO much for the advice!
Linda

Answer
Hello Linda:

I Didn't see you in the Shop. LOL That was the Same Way I Use to Install the Clutch Springs when I First Started Doing these Repairs. Now I have a Ratchet Designed to Do the Pulling. Im Glad you Got it Going. Till Next Time. May All Your Mechanical Problems Be SMALL ONES and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks Again for the Good Words and the Update.

Best Wishes and Good Luck

Respectfully

John
