Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Husqvarna - Engage Blades and Engine Quits, seat safety, safety switch

Question
I just obtained a used lawnmower (Husqvarna - YTH150 - 954140007).  Everything about the mower seems great except that when I pull the button to electronically engage the blades, the engine dies.  It seems like a cutoff switch is being activated, but I've tried every combination I can think of to get the blades engaged while the engine is running and cannot figure out what could be the problem.  I was able to find a manual (PDF file) and couldn't find my answer there, so wonder if you'd be able to offer any advice?

Answer
Hello Paul:

Check the Seat Safety Switch. Disconnect the Switch and Place a Jumper in the Harness. If this Doesn't Correct the Problem, then Check the Voltage to the Battery when you Engage the PTO. If the Voltage Drops to Less Than 11.0VDC, then the Stator is Bad or the Voltage Regulator is Bad. The Low Voltage Causes the Carburetor Fuel Shut Off Solenoid (if this Engine has one) to Close and Stops the Gas Flow to the Carburetor Jet. I'm Leaning Towards the Seat Safety Switch. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
