Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): question, 60 hertz, adjustment screws

Question
what's up truthmeister how many beers did u drink tonight i have a question on setting engine speed what do you normally set engine idle and rpm and do u do this with adjustment screws or bend tang on governer spring. thanks

Answer
I could drink a keg and answer this one.
We bend tabs to increase revs. All small engines in the US run at 3800 RPMs with no load. If the blade is always on 3600 RPMs.
Believe it or not this speed was set buy The Makers Of All Things Junk, HOMELITE. Back in 1916 Homelite built a generator. All things AC then and now run at 60 hertz. To get 60 hertz you have to spin the crank 3600 RPM's.
Tonight is Friday night. No Buds for me. JAEGER BOMBS!!!!!!
Idle speed 1100 RPMs. Who cares, air cooled engines want to run WFO all the time!
