Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 917-377420 lawn mower, screw clamps, craftsman 917

Question
John, I have a gasoline dripping somewhere along the hose connecting gas tank with carburetor. I do not see that hose would have visible damages and the metal ties on the end are fine. What typically can cause this?
Thank you very much

Answer
Hello Alex:

The Factory Bands May be Loose. Replace the Hose and the Clamps. Also, Check the Gas Tank and the Tank Outlet Port for Cracks. Check the Carburetor Inlet Port for Cracks. Usually the Hose and the Clamps Cure the Problem. I Use Screw Clamps Instead of the Spring Clamps. The Spring Clamps Lose Their Tension After Time. Your Engine Numbers are 143.986500 and you can View the Mower or the Engine at this Addy, http://www3.sears.com/ Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
