QuestionI took 6 point star nut off 41" Yardmachine to replace blade and now cant find a nut that works. What size is it and kind of thread?

You are making an easy job hard.Do what I do at work when I lose a nut or bolt. Remove the nut from the other blade and go the nut bin and find one that fits, in your case the nut bin is probably your local hardware store.
If they don't have the right thing (it doesn't have to be exact) go to the locale power equipment dealer, it will be a piece of cake.
Don't buy 1 online, the nut will cost less than a buck. Freight online, 7.00 and it'll take a week.
