Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): gxv530 Honda twin, blown head gasket, honda twin

Question
Hi John--

Thanks for taking the time to help me.  My three year old garden tractor is only running on one cylinder this spring.  I am quite handy so checked it out and was not getting a spark from that ignition coil so I replaced it, now getting a spark, but still no power on that side.  tried swapping plugs, and still no go on that side.  What is the next step?  I am thinking to get a cheap compression tester and checking for compression.  removing the kill wire on that side doesn't help.  Thanks again, Michael

Answer
 Hello Michael:

You are Correct. The Next Step is a Compression Check on the Dead Cylinder. The Problem May be a Blown Head Gasket, the Valves on the Dead Cylinder May Require Adjustment or a Valve May be Stuck. You should be Able to Locate a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine At Either of these Site Addys. 1- http://www.honda-engines-eu.com/en/service/spareparts/heepartscatalogue/index.js... and Select the Model and Type.  2- http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select American Honda. Hope this Helps. I am here if you require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
