Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere LT 165, grunt work, trany

Question
My friend and I put a new drive belt on last fall, however, somehow the belt has worked its way loose.  He did most of the grunt work, however, if you can tell me where and how to tighten the belt I can avoid disturbing my friend for his help.  Thanks.

Answer
Here comes the truth wether you want it or not.
The only thing that keeps the belt tight on this mower is the idler spring. If the spring is good the tranny is toast. I would still recomend repairing even if it needs a new trany. A new trans will cost 415.00 (AM121302).
You sure can't buy anything new for that kind of money.
