Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper rear engine rider, snapper dealer, spindle assembly

Question
Heh, I have a 30" deck and the spindle is going bad.  How come I can't find a complete Spindle assembly?  All I can find on line this morning are the shaft, housing and bearings?  Is that what repair mechanics do on these spindles....repair them instead of replacing the whole assembly?

Answer
YES rebuilding it will be easy, Forest Gump probably had to do it regularly to mow that football field. If Forest can do it you can to.
Complete assemblies are pretty expensive, bearings are cheap.
You have to remember that labor makes more profit for a shop than parts sales. The industry in general is based on this principal.
If you can't rebuild the spindle yourself pull the spindle and take it to your local Snapper dealer. He'll charge you about .5 hours labor and the cost of 2 bearings, total repair cost  should be about 50.00 dollars.
