Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): sabre 1538 john deere k55 hydro, tuff torq, input shaft

I have a 96 sabre with a tuff torq k55 hydro trans. it slips real bad if you give the mower gas, i checked all fluids and belts all ok. any ideals and where can i find a repair manual on the k55? thanks

Try the library, they might have a Sabre manual in the reference section.
I've worked at a Deere dealer for 15 years and I can tell you that if the pulley on the trans isn't slipping on the input shaft (very common) or the hub isn't slipping at the weld (also common)your trans is done. Repair parts are more expensive than a complete trans. Part# am880203 retails for 770.83. Scrap the Sabre it's done.
Have you had a tire repaired lately. if so make sure the key is in the wheel.
