Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Push Rods, briggs and stratton, push tube

Question
Hello, I have a mower with a Briggs n Stratton 25 hp 2 cyl Intek OHV that keeps bending the exhaust push rods, always the same cylinder.  This has happened 3 times. Do you have any ideas? (model #445777 type #0154E1 code #010308YH)

Answer
 Hello Amy:

If the Push Tubes are Bending, then Check the Valve Clearance. If the Clearance is Set to Close, then the Push Tubes will Bend at High RPMs. Also, Which Push Tubes are you Using for Replacement? Push Tube Part Number 690982 is an Aluminum Push Tube and the Push Tube Part Number  690981 is a Steel Push Tube. I use the 690981 Tubes when Replacing Push Tubes in these Mowers. If you are Using the 690982 Tubes, then Try the 690981 Tubes. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine at this Addy http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the B. Then Select Briggs and Stratton. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Select File #44. Then Select the Folder 445700. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
