Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): riding lawnmower - solenoid connections, question pool, spade connectors

Question
I am replacing a solenoid in a Troy Built riding lawnmower. I didn't get a good look at the connections on the old one as I was disconnecting it. Now I have 4 wires (one with a spade connection) and two posts and a spade. I can figure out where the spade goes but I'm not sure where the 3 wires connect. I think one goes to ground but not sure which one. any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Answer
Hello Bob:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was in the Question Pool. Usually there are 2 Large Wires. One is from the Battery to the Solenoid. The Other is From the Solenoid to the Starter. 2 Smaller Wires with Spade Connectors; One is From the Ignition Switch and Is Hot Only When the Ignition Switch is Turned to the Start Position. The Other is Connected to the Solenoid at the Base Also. This is Usually a Charging or Accessory Wire. The Solenoid that is Used with this Type System has the 2 Spade Connections on the Base of the Solenoid. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
