Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): new gasoline formulas, gas stabilizer, cycle engines

Question
I'm being told that the new gas formulas now being produced won't last for more than a few months and will plug up small 2 cycle engines.  I sthis ture?

 Hello Nick:

 From what I have Seen Over the Past Couple of Years, I have to Say Yes to your Question. I have Started Using Sta-Bil Gas Stabilizer in All my Gas that I Purchase that is Used in the Yard Maintenance Equipment. I have Found that the Gas if Not Treated with Sta-Bil will Gum Up Not Only 2cycle Carburetors, but Mower, Generator and ATV Carburetors as Well. 3 Month is About the Max that Gas is Stabilized for Anymore. After the 3 Month it Seems the Gas Just Breaks Down. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.
