Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn Tractor wont start, fuel line hoses, hp engine

Question
I have a 2003 Craftman lt2000 with a kohler 17 HP engine.
The tractor is model # 917.273140 and the engine is Kohler # CV490 type # 27508. The Lawn Tractor has been unused in my garage and sitting with gasoline that evaporated over the course of 3 years. I bought gas and cranked the engine over and over but the tractor wouldn't start. Finally I removed the spark plug and noticed the plug was in good condition but was bone dry. I checked the fuel filter and fuel line hoses but gasoline was free flowing to the carburetor. I removed the air filter and sprayed gas into the carburetor and the engine did turn over a few timed before stopping. My guess is that the gas evaporated and after sitting so long and sediment was created. Is there a surefire way of getting the tractor started without having to remove the carburetor and thoroughly cleaning it? thoughts?

Answer
 Hello Bob:

No Way I Know of. The Gas Left Behind a Varnish that will Require the Carburetor to be Soaked Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I use Gunk) and then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
