Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere LT155 electrical, jd dealer, ohm meter

Question
I had to install a new wiring harness, regulator, and key switch because
something caused the wiring to burn up on my 2001 JD LT155 (serial #
M0L155H125416).  Before I power things up I have been checking various
circuits with an ohm meter and noticed that the white wire that leads to the
module (part # M133019) that provides electricity to the spark plug is on
ground. This module is next to the stator. I can disconnect the wire and the
short is not on the module inself but somewhere else in the wiring system.  It
seems to be on ground no matter what position the key is in.  I just wanted to
see if this was normal before I connect the battery and fry something.

Answer
Do you have the schematic for the tractor?  Can you trace the wire by hand or use an ohm meter to see where the other end of the wire connects to?

Are you replacing the battery?
I will see if I can find some information on your tractor but it may be difficult since we are not a JD Dealer.
Let me know if you have the schematic.
