Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 8HP snow king issue, snapper snow blower, snow king

Question
I have a 8HP sno king on my snapper snow blower. Durring the recent NJ snow storm, it started to flood and the carb overflowed. I Quickly changed the float and got it running. The problem is it revs way to high, I think I put it back together the same way. Is it possible I messed up the linkage that went to what i belive limited the revs. How can I tell if it is correctly assembled or how can I adjust this. When the throttle is down it will idle but when I move it up it revs way to high. If I blow snow it will go back down but with no load it screams.  Help me please!!!

Answer
 Hello Mike:

It Sounds like you Removed the Governor Control Arm from the Governor Shaft and the Governor is Out of Adjustment. Loosen the Governor Arm from the Governor Shaft. Hold the Carburetor Control Plate to Full Open and Turn the Governor Shaft Clockwise Until it Stops. Hold the Governor Shaft and Throttle Pate and Tighten the Governor Arm Back to the Governor Shaft. If the Engine Doesnt Idle and Just Revs, then Reverse the Direction of the Governor Shaft and Then the Governor will Work Properly. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
