Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Rototiller wont start, fuel additive, code numbers

Question
QUESTION: my 3.5hp MTD, B&S motor rototiller will not start.  I can start it with starting
fluid into the carb but it dies immediately.  I had it started just 2 months ago
during the winter (just to start it) and it ran great.   I had put a fuel additive
(maybe 4-5 ounces) in it after starting it then, could that have jacked it up?
help please.
ANSWER:   Hello Christina:

Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner. Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air and Install New Kit. The Additive May have Loosened the Varnish that Builds Up Inside the Carburetor and is Clogging the Main Jet. The Problem you Described is Typical of a Clogged and Dirty Carburetor. Send me the Model, Type and Code Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these Numbers I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL for you to View Online. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.
