Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper Mower Transmission, snapper mower, friction disc

Question
Snapper rear engine model#281223BVE, 12hp B&S, HiVac 28", 5 speed disc drive. When I put the mower in reverse it pops out of gear into neutral, now when I put it in any fwd gear I need to rock the mower to barley get it to move forward. Is there a transmission adjustment I need to work on or is there a more serious problem ?

Answer
 Hello Steve:

The Only Transmission Adjustment is for the Clutch Cable. From your Description, it Sounds like the Friction Disc Plate or the Friction Drive Plate May be Worn and Require Replacing. At the Clutch Pedal, where the Cable Attaches to the Pedal, there should be some Small Metal Sleeves on the Cable that are Positioned to Set the Legnth of the Cable. you can View Manuals and Breakdown/IPLs at this Addy http://snapper.com/# and Select Publications. Then Select the Model Number of the Mower from the Drop Down List and then Select the Manual you Require for Online Viewing. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assstance. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
