-----Question-----
i have a craftman 15hp riring mower it just stopped pulling one day the belts are fine the thing is if you jack it up and put it in gear the wheels will turn some but you can stop them by hand although the pulley on top of the rear end still turns at full speed.i took the rear end out thinking that a key had sheared on the pulley it had not.then i opened the transaxle up thinking maybe a pin or something had sheared i could not find anything that looked bad.if you turn the main gear by hand it will turn the axle but you can stop the axel with your hand while turning the main gear the blowup diagrame i found does not show any pins or keys that are not there that i can find.any help would be great

 Hello Larry:

Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. If you have the Make and Model Numbers of the Transaxle they will Help also. Is this a Dana, Spicer or Foote Transaxle? There are Many Different Transaxles on the Market and I want to be Sure of the Transaxle you are Working on. Is this a Hydro Transaxle? Is this a Limited Slip Transaxle? All these Questions will be Answered with the Model Numbers. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Larry:

The Breakdown/IPL/Diagragm I am Looking at is at this Addy http://www.m-and-d.com/dana_foote_parts.html and Scroll Down to the View Dana/Foote Parts Diagragms. Spicer/Dana/Foote are from the Same OEM. Have you Disassembled the Shafts and Inspected the Splines? You Need to Completely Disassemble the Transaxle and Inspect All the Splines for Damage. Are you Sure the Belts and Idlers were Good? The Problem you are Having with this Transaxle is Usually the Idlers, Belt or the Input Woodruff Key Sheared. Sometimes the Splines in the Chain Sprocket Strip Out. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 John
