Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Fuel leak from Carby plastic primer, gasket seal, gas tank

Question
I have a Victa 2 stroke mower, fuel was leaking from the plastic bowl plate on the carby, I removed the plastic plate and replaced it with one from an identical mower (didn't fix). when I put the plastic plate back on the working mower it now also leaks fuel only from the hole in the primer pump thing only (the gasket seal seems OK). Do I need to replace the bowl plate?

Answer
 Hello Alex:

1- Did the Old Primer have the Hole in it like the New One? If Yes, then the Gas Tank Cap isnt Venting and the Pressure is Causing the Gas to be Pushed Out the Tank and through the Carburetor Choke Port and Leak. If No, then you have the Wrong Primer Bulb. 2- Clean and Rebuild the Carburetor. The Carburetor Float Needle Is Sticking Open and Causing this Problem. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.

 Good Luck
