Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 7 horse tecumsah toro snowthrower, snowthrower, carburetor

Question
bought used toro, sat out for 2 years in all weather. hasn't run in those 2 years. drained gas and put in fresh. drained oil and put in fresh. changed spark plug. will not start and stay running. tried carb cleaner and gas directly into carb, will start, but then dies right out. tried gas and carb cleaner into the carb multiple times. pulled gas line off at carb to confirm fuel there and there was. it has electric start, guessing the machine is about 6-8 years old. thanks for any help. I would appreciate help from any of the experts.

Answer
Almost all of these problems require removing, dis-assembling and rebuilding the carburetor.  Have you removed, dis-assembled and cleaned the carb by soaking in carburetor cleaner, rinsing with parts cleaner and then blowing out the carb orfices with compressed air from an air compressor?
Let me know.
