Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): briggs 12 hp stator wiring, briggs and stratton, hp briggs

Question
I recently purchased a used 12 hp 289707 briggs to replace a blown 12 hp briggs.  The wiring is a little different and I'm not sure how to connect it.  The new engine has 2 wires with a connector (one white- I think and the other black) coming from what I expect is the stator.  The other wire is a black wire with a round connector- research tells me this is DC only connector.  My mower only has the 1 round connector.  Does anyone have an idea of how to connect these?  who the engine come with both connectors and I not have to use but one?

Answer
 Hello Wyatt:

The Single Wire (round connector) should be the Engine Shut Off Wire and the Double Connector is the Stator (charger). Go to this Addy http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select B. Then Select Briggs and Stratton. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Select the File # 28. Then Select the File 289707. The Stator is Located on Page 8 of 17. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
