Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper 11hp/28, snapper rider, vacuum line

Question
I have a Snapper rider as above with a B&S Intek OHV model 21A907 engine, type 0124.  I have not used this mower for 45-60 days and when starting today the engine started ok, then began to die, and blew heavy white smoke through the exhaust. There was a cycle of revving then dying each time blowing heavy white smoke. After stopping the engine I found a fairly large amount of oil had blown out, apparently at a line connecting the carb to the engine block.  I am assuming this is some sort of breather or vacuum line.  There was no clamp holding it in place like the fuel lines from the fuel tank to the carb.  The line was loose and will not stay on the fitting at the carb end and about 2 or 3oz. of oil had blown out.  A sample of oil from the drain valve smells of gasoline and the oil is obviously mixed with gasoline.  Help!

Answer
 Hello Parker Taylor:

Check the Crankcase for Gas in the Oil. Install a Cutoff in the Gas Line to the Carburetor and Clean and Rebuild the Carburetor. Always Turn Off the Fuel Flow to the Carburetor when the Engine is Not in Use. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
