Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 4 HP tecumseh Ariens snow blower timing, hp blower, moving point

Question
I acquired an older Ariens 4 HP blower model HS40-55440C from my inlaws.  It had no spark. I replaced the points and condenser and changed to fresh fuel. It wants to start but runs only briefly and dies. The problem is that when I removed the points and condenser I removed the entire housing without marking it for timing. The long winded question is... how do I set the timing on this old beast?

Answer
going back to the points.....   you will see a lobe on the crankshaft  where the points ride off of.
that  lobe needs to be directly  under the point  of where points contact it.  once you have it there you set your point opening  at  0.020 , by  moving point plate one way or other, then tight it up  it should be held by 2 screws  the one being a sloted hole.  thats the one you need to loosen up to move points either way.  once you have points set at 20,   and back together    and everything else is  fine,   it should start.
