Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snow blower wont start, snow blower, blowing snow

Question
Hi,

While blowing snow last night my snow blower made a very loud bang then died. It will now not start. When pulling the cord it pulls fine, I can see the piston moving with the spark plug pulled and do have spark. I can't really feel any compression but wondered if there is anything easy I could check before taking it to a service center.

Thanks

Answer
bang sound????  just like that?  up and dies,  thats not a good sign.   it may have destroyed a vale.  your piston is moving up and down ,  as you hold fingure over hole you feel no  compression ???  thats not a good sign.  i,d say  you need to remove the cyclinder head and check further.
other then this advise>>  there isnt move i can say.   you have reserched all of the above??? and it checks okay ???  then its more wrong and needs a service center.
hope this helps...
