Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Exchanging motors, crank shaft, briggs stratton

i have an 8HP briggs&Stratton on a snapper, and i am wondering if i could swap it with an 11hp briggs that is currently on a simplicity tractor

it will drop  right on.  knowing that the crank shaft should be same, other then maybe redoing exhaust and mounting the engine right, everything should work right and be okay.  same wires go to same places.  etc.
 if you have anything you run into>>  get back to me, and i,ll try and help you.  main thing to look for and they should be same...  is crank shaft lenght, and dia.
