-----Question-----
We have a Yard Machine by MTD, 14.5 HP LT, riding mower. My husband ran out of gas but was practically finished mowing, so we pushed it into the garage.  The next time he needed to mow he put in gas but discovered he had neglected to turn the ignition off, so the battery had run down.  We jumped it off and it started, but would not engage in gear and move either forward or backward.  Do you have any suggestions?  We would really appreicate it as we have a large yard that needs mowing one last time!

Answer
 Hello Mickey:

This Mower Uses a Variable Speed Pulley to Increase and Decrease Ground Speed. Remove the Mower Deck and Check the Belts. Remove the Lower Belt from the Variable Speed Pulley and Check the Floating Sheave in the Pulley that Floats. It Should Move Freely. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Addy http://www.buymtdonline.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/topcategory_10101_15601_-1 and Select the Launch Illustrated Search Engine. Then Select the OEM(MTD) and Enter the Model Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Search Results Area. This will Open a New Window for you to View the Breakdown/IPL. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks. Be Safe.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
