Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn mower with TOO much gas., briggs stratton, code numbers

Question
I have a mower that had the engine replaced a few years ago with a Briggs & Stratton 18.5 HP Twin II engine.  Last year it quit running, I of course fiddled with it (all the screws) and gave up. I was told it was a bad electronic carburetor.  A new carb was put on and it ran fine, so it seemed.  It was the end of the season so I did not use it again.  This year I started it and was using it.  It ran for a few minutes and died.  When I pulled the air filter the chamber was flooded with gas.  This happens every time I try to start it.  I'm thinking there must be some screws that I messed with that 'broke' the flow controls.  That or the carb needs tuning.

Can you point me in the right direction?

Answer
 Hello Mike:

It May be the Electric Shutoff Solenoid. How do you Winterize this Engine? Send me the Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL and Better Assist you. Thanks.

 Good Luck
