Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Self-Propelled Craftsman lawnmower, drive pulley, drive wheels

Question
I have a 9 yr old self propelled 6 hp craftsman lawnmower.
Recently, the drive stopped working and the wheels do not want to move very freely. I checked for grass clogging up the gears on the drive wheels and replaced the drive belt, but the drive still doesn't work. After changing the belt, I noticed the belt was turning slowly around the drive pulley.  However, the drive pulley wasn't turning.  What should I do next?

Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Scott:

If the Belt is Slipping on the Transmission Drive Pulley, then Either Replace the Transmission or Disassemble the Transmission and Clean the Transmission. Replace Any Bad or Damaged Parts. The Main Worm Gear or the Ring Gear are Most likely Worn and Binding. This is a Common Problem when the Worm and Ring Gear Wear. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
