Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman 6.75hp push mower, t touch, code numbers

Question
Hi. Got this mower that does not seem to get a spark. Chg'd plug/chk'd wire/fresh gas. When engaged everything seems OK,yet no plug fireing at all. Is this due to the magneto being bad. Are magnetos interchangeable. How do you chk magneto for it being good or bad. thanks!

Answer
 Hello Steve:

Follow the Engine Brake/Shutoff Cable from the Handle to the Engine. Locate the Engine Brake/Shutoff Bracket. There is a Wire coming from Under the Blower Housing, going to a Cutoff Blade. Remove this Wire from the Blade and Make Sure this wire Doesn't Touch Ground. Check for Spark. If Still No Spark, then the Coil/Magneto May be Bad, Depending on the Model. If this has the Magnetron Ignition then the Coil/Magnetron is Bad. If this Model has Contact Set Under the Flywheel, then the Contact Set is Bad. Send me the Make, Model, Type and Code Numbers Off of the Mower and the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown/IPl and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
