-----Question-----
I have a carb that I picked up to put on a 3 HP push mower it runs OK but the primer does nothing. I cleaned it good and all the passages are open. I see nothing like a check valve in the passages for the primer. There are no numbers on the thing except a 45 stamped in the bowl and a 73 cast in the upper part. Can you help. Tom

 Hello Tom:

From what I see the Carburetor Choke Port May be Clogged. Is this a New Carburetor or a Used One? Try this Addy http://www.tecumsehpower.com/CustomerService/BSI.pdf. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Answer
 Hello Tom:

Have you Replaced the Primer Bulb? If Yes, then I Suggest you Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaning Solution(I use Gunk). Then Blow Out the Passages with Carburetor Cleaner. There is a Blockage in the Choke Passage and Not Allowing the Gas to Flow to the Primer Bulb when the Primer is Used. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
