Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): johm deer stx 38 transmission, peerless transaxle, drive pulley
Questionwhen i put the mower in gear any gear all it does is tick. i have taken it apart and the trans looks to be in perfict cond. all gears look to be meshing well,no shavings,no broken gears,the seector fork is fine. when i turn the drive pulley by hand everything works and i can't hold the axels from spining. but as soon as i put the trans in and the tires on all it does is a faint click and try to jump in gear once in a while. and the whole time the belt/ pulley is spining.
Answeremail me this question i need to further research this. i,am guessing it is a peerless transaxle. what model?? 800 ??? 900?? but its sounding to me the shifting prongs 2 small thin pcs. of metal on shifter shaft are not doing their job of putting gears into mess.
