Thanks for your response. I took the carb off and thoroughly cleaned it with Gumout. I have it back together and it runs only at wide open throttle. As dumb as this is I can't remember where exactly the linkage was. It fell apart as I removed it.The engine # is 7.799601. I sure hope you can help. Thanks so much. David

I have a Craftsmen push leaf vacuum with a Eager 1 5.0 4 cycle engine. It has sat for several years. It will not start. I have:
Put fresh fuel in.
There is good spark.
Cleaned fuel/float bowl.
Changed oil.
It will start and run with starter fluid and then stops after thats burned off.
It doesn't seem like the primer bulb is working and I am not sure what to do or how to disassemble.clean it.

The Carburetor needs to be Cleaned and Rebuilt. Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Gunk Carburetor Cleaner and then Blow out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install New Kit. The Kit should have a New Primer Bulb. Varnish has Clogged the Passages and the Jet of the Carburetor. Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these, I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL for you to View Online and I can Use it to Better Assist you. Thanks.

The Model Numbers should be 143.xxxxxx or LAV-xxx or Similar Numbers. The Linkage Rod goes from the Carburetor Throttle Plate Shaft to the Governor Control Arm. Send me the Sears Model Number Off of the Blower and I May be Able to Locate the Engine Breakdown/IPL for the Engine Using them. Thanks.

You can View a Breakdown/IPL of This Engine at this Addy http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the T. Then Select Tecumseh. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Enter the Model Numbers 143.799601 and Click Go. Then Select Download File. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
