Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): No spark on Briggs 19.5 hp, sears craftsman, safety switches

Question
What is the likely culprit for no spark in my Sears Craftsman 19.5 hp twin Briggs?(1998 model) I am the original owner. A module , coil or nuetral safety switch ? All components in the ignition are original. Help is greatly appreciated!
      Thanks......Joe

Answer
 Hello Joe:

Disconnect the Shutoff Wire from the Coil. If the Spark Fires, then a Safety Switch is Bad. If No Fire, then the Coil/Ignition Module/Igniter is Bad. Check the Seat, Blade and Clutch Safety Switches. On Some of these Mowers there is a Relay Under the Seat that will Cause this Problem Also. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Mower at this Addy http://www3.sears.com/ and then Click the Lawn Equipment Box. Then Enter the Mowers Model Numbers and Click Continue. Then Verify the Equipment and Click Continue. The Next Page will be the View Diagram and View Parts List Page. From here you can View all the Mower in Breakdown/IPL Form. Hope this Helps. I am Here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
