Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): valve clearance, valve clearance, compression release

i really am lost on this i put the piston top dead center put the cam in but i don't have a clue as to how to set the valve clearance so can U break i down step by step for a retard i would really appreciate it thanks

 If the Engine Dont have the Compression Release System the Valves are Set: Intake Valve .008 - .010in and the Exhaust .012 - .014in. If the Engines Do have the Compression Release System the Valves are Set: Intake Valve .005 - .007in and the Exhaust Valve .008 - .010in. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance.
