Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Rewire task, hp briggs, generator voltage regulator

Question
Hello John, I've enjoyed all input of this forum
and maintain 2 riding mowers so I read here often!
My oldest rider (a 1969 Simplicity Broadmoor)
7 HP Briggs gave up the ghost this year.
I finally located a 10 HP Briggs that fits the
tractor. I need your help in rewiring this tractor from the old generator/voltage regulator
belt starter system to the newer geardrive starter and
flywheel charging system.
I have cleaned and replaced all connectors, new
starter solenoid relay. It does use a keyed 5
contact switch, ampmeter, safety switch is only
on the trans shift. Would you be so kind to e-me
a basic wiring diagram for such a setup?
The motor has points, condenser, red lead on the
starter side, black lead to kill switch side.
I need to know where to connect the red lead?
But I think some other wires will need to be hooked up differently with this change over!
Thanks for your help in advance!

Answer
 Hello Patrick:

The Red Wire Should be From the Stator(Charging System). This Stator has a Built in Regulator. The Starter Wires are the Same as for the Old System Except for the Charging Wire. It goes to the Red Wire from Under the Flywheel you were Asking about. This should Allow the Current from the Stator to Recharge the Battery. The Big Wire from the Soleniod is the Only Wire to the Starter. The Safety Switch works Through the Soleniod so No Worries there. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
