Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): JohnDeere 170, john deere 170, kawasaki engine

Question
I have a 1989 John Deere 170 (14hp kawasaki engine)which is in good shape, but has recently had a problem.  After mowing for 30 minutes or so, it will quit running.  After it sits for a while, it will start tunning again. The oil, plug, gas filter, and fuel lines have been replaced.  Any assistance is appreciated.

Answer
 Hello Rich:

Check the Gas Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank Properly. On this Mower the Most Common cause for this Problem is the Igniter Not the Coil. You can View  Breakdown of this Mower and Engine at this Addy http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Number. Then Select your Model from the Results Area. Then Select the Sectional Index. Then Select the Engine. Then Select 16- 170, 175, 180 and 185 Stator, Spark Plug, Engine Wiring, Igniter and Coil. Number 2 is the Ignitor. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let em know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
