Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere L120 will not run, john deere l120, sectional index

Question
The engine will initially start up with the use of the choke.  After choke is taken off, the engine will die.  I have check fuel lines, drained and replaced gas with no results.  does this have some type of electronic choke or fuel shut off switch somewhere?

Answer
 Hello Matt:

You can View a Breakdown of the Mower and the Engine at this Addy http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Number L120. Then Click on the Model in the Search Results Area. Then Select Sectional Index. Then Select Fuel and Air. Then Select Air Filter and Pump. Is the Gas Free Flowing to the Pump Inlet? These Pumps Dont Pull that Good, They Push. The Gas must Free Flow to the Pump. There is a Fuel Soleniod. Remove the Soleniod and Replace it with a Short Bolt of the Same Diameter and Threads. If the Problem goes Away, then the Soleniod is Bad. If Not, the Soleniod is Good. From your Description it Sounds like the Soleniod is Bad or the Carburator needs to be Cleaned and Rebuilt. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
