Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Scotts s1742 Riding mower, amp fuse, bench test

Question
John,
I have an S1742 riding mower. It wont start. I had trouble w/ the solenoid last summer, changed that and it ran fine. Last week she wouldnt start again. I put in new solenoid, bench tested starter, charged battery, put in new ignition switch. Nothing. Found blown 15 amp fuse. Put in 2 new fuses that burned up before they were fully seated. Got any Ideas? Thanks for your time.

Answer
 Hello Nick:

Have you Checked the Relay Part #AT75769? There May be a Short in the Wiring Harness. The Bench Test of the Starter, was it a No Load Test or a Load Test? A No Load Test Isnt Accurate. The Test needs to be a Load Test in Case the Starter is Binding/Dragging under a Load. I have Checked Many Starters with No Load and they Function Fine, then Under a Load they Drag/Bind. You can View a Breakdown of the Mower at this Addy http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers S1742. Then Click on the Model in the Search Results area. Then Select the Sectional View. Then Select the Electrical. Then Select the Wiring Harness. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
