Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): tecumse engine part 2, air gap, doller bill

Question
ok the rally numbers are RLT125R38,RLT125R38B,2336D and i got the starter to work and it turns the flywheel fine and yes i'm trying to get it running and the engine number again is OHV125-203009A i haven't checked the plug yet to see if it's getting spark and i also took some sand paper and sanded down the magneto and magnet on the flywheel to get rid of most of the rust and also is it true that the gap on them is the same as a doller bill? My grandfather told me that one i just wanted to make sure coz that seems a too close to me,and i downloaded that parts list at the web site u gave me thanks  that helps alot

Answer
 Hello Jason:

The Air Gap for the Coil - Flywheel is .020in. I was Told a Dollar Bill Folded Over 3 Times was a Good Set for the Air Gap. You can Use a Side Panel Out of an 24Pk Pepsi or Coke Carton to Set the Coil - Flywheel Air Gap. Have you Checked the Compression and Made Sure it is Over 70psi? I would Suggest you Clean and Rebuild the Carburator and Spray Lube All the Connection Points on the Mower with PB Rust Catalyst. Remove the Spark Plug and Turn the Piston Until the Valves are Closed. Fill the Cylinder with Marvel Mystery Oil and Let it Set for 24hrs.  Then Drain the Cylinder and Crankcase. Blow Out the Cylinder with Compressed Air. Refill the Engine with Oil. Turn the Engine Several Times before Replacing the Spark Plug to Clear the Cylinder. The Marvel Mystery Oil will Assist the Rings in Freeing Up and Hopefully they Wont Stick and Become a Problem Later on. If you have Specific Questions, Please Ask. Im New at this Online Forum Style Problem Solving. I Usually have the Equipment in Front of me.
