Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Yamaha Golf Cart, vaccum tube, stroke engine

Question
John: a while back I asked a question about my golf cart. You said to be sure the exhaust tube wasn't blocked so I took it loose from the muffler no change. Then you said to check the pressure from thr crankcase, the guage was fluctuating wildly but there was no noticable pressure. Do you know what the pressure should be. You asked about the serial number of the engine it is J31-151550. What do I need to do to get the pressure up in the crankcase. Again I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank You, Gary

Question -
You didn't list Golf Carts in your experiences, but I thought I would give it a shot. I have a 1986 G-1 Golf Cart. It has a 2 stroke engine,When I press down the gas pedal the only way it will run is with thr choke full on. When I pulled the hose of the carburator the fuel pump doesn;t appear to be working. The fuel pump is operated by a hose to the crankcase. Is there a way to check the Pressure from thr crankcase and, do you know what should it be. Any input on this problem would be appreciated. Thank You, Gary Nolin

 Hello Gary:

LOL I have Worked on Both the Electric and the Petro Carts. You will Require a Vaccum Gauge to Check the Cylinder Vaccum. However, Remove the Muffler and Ensure the Exhaust Port Isnt Blocked. Carbon will Build Up in the Exhaust Port and Cause the Problem you are Having. The Vaccum Tube can Crack and Leak Also. Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Engine, Please. With these Numbers I can Locate a Breakdown of the Engine and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck

Answer
 Hello Gary:

The Pump Works Off of Vaccum not Pressure. Did you Use a Vaccum Gauge? I found a Breakdown/IPL and I Suggest you Clean and Rebuild the Carburator if the Carburator Mounting Joint is Not Cracked and the Gaskets are Sealing Good. The Addy is http://www.computerpoint.net/catalog/jand01/browsemanuf.htm and this Site has Most of what you May Require. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance.
