Hi John, Thanks for your help.
I do not know if it has an interlock relay or not. I believe it does though based on looking at the specs at sears.  The model number is 917-273080  The engine is a Kohler Pro. 22hp v twin.

Question -
Engine strarts and idles fine but immediately dies upon release of the clutch.  I have installed new battery, new spark plug, and checked the kill switch  under the seat.  I am wondering what could cause the problem.  The mower is off and not engaged. It just dies when I release the clutch.  The mower is a Craftsman GT 2.2 v twin

 Does this Mower have the Interlock Relay? Check the Clutch Safety Switch Also. Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Mower and I can Locate a Breakdown and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps.  You have the Site I was going to Send you to. From your Description It sounds like the Seat Safety or the Clutch Safety. Check the Harness. Remove the Deck and Wearing Safety Glasses, Look Under the Mower and Watch the Linkage as Someone Moves the Clutch/Brake Pedal. The Linkage May be Rubbing/Grounding the Harness. Hope this Helps.
