Hi,
Having a problem with my John Deere STX38, everything seems to be running good except the mower deck.  When I am mowing I hear the deck turning on and then off and then back on again and I am missing spots of grass that I cut.  I thought at first it was a bad belt but it seems okay.  Now I am thinking it might be electrical but not sure.

Any ideas, someone mentioned the PTO adjustment but not sure how to do that, could it be that and if so where can I get instructions to adjust it?

You have a bad pto ground, This is very, very common.
The ground is under the rear motor mount bolt on the right side.
Repair the ground and you will have no more problems.
One of the wires you are jiggling with the stick is the wire I'm talking about. Repair the ground and throw away the stick.
