Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S 4.0 Quattro push mower starting problems, carburetor, tank

after I prime the engine it starts up and runs for about 5-8 seconds and then stalls out.  Re-prime and it does the same thing.  It will not stay running.  Maybe not drawing fuel from the tank for some reason?  Can you help?

This is a classic dirty carburetor. You may be albe to remove the carb bowl nut located on the bottom of the carburetor to drain the carb.  

If draining the carb bowl does not fix the problem you will have to remove, dis-assemble and clean the carb with compressed air and carb cleaner.
