Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Poulan/Weedeater Lawn Mower, briggs and stratton, hp briggs

Question
I have a Poulan/Weedeater push lawnmower with a 6.5 HP Briggs and Stratton Engine. Model S65N22CHA.  It will not start.  No gas seems to get to the carb. even using the primer bulb. It will start when I add gas to the air cleaner side of the carb., but then stops.  The line from the tank is clear and the gas is new. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Answer
 Hello Ed:

From your Description the Carburator needs to be Cleaned and Rebuilt. Gas Forms a Varnish Inside the Carburator Over time and this Restricts/Blocks the Gas Flow to the Carburator Jet. If the Varnish has Built up enough it will cause the Carburator Float Needle to Stick Closed and No Gas will get Into the Carburator Bowl. If the Carburator Float Sticks Open, it Floods the Engine. Most Times the Carburator Float Needle will Stick Closed and Cause the Problem you are Having. Send me All the Numbers Off of the Engine and I May be Able to Locate a Breakdown of the Engine and Carburator for you to View Online. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
