Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Toro Wheelhorse Blade Drive Belt, toro wheel horse, cutting blade

Hi. I have a Toro Wheel Horse ride on mower, 8 HP B&S, 25" cut. Model #70044, S/N 200001794. It will cut on 5 (the highest setting) but not on settings 1-4. The blade drive belt seems very loose. Is there a way to tighten it, or should I replace, and what's the best way? Is there something else it could be? I just replaced the blade a few cuts ago. Thanks!

There should be an ajustment on the idler pulley; this is the pulley that moves when you engage the cutting blade.

If the adjustment is all the way tight then you will have to replace the belt.

It is easier to replace the belt with the deck removed but I would recommend getting leaving the deck on if you have never removed it.  It may take a little more time to replace the belt it is better than trying to figure out how to re-install the deck.
