Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawm mower, gas leak, fuel tank

I have a gas leak in my lawm mower , it drips around the filter,what could I do to fix it ?

Answer
The fix action depends on the engine carburetor style.  I'm assuming you have float style carb since it is leaking.

The best method to fix the problem is to remove, dis-assemble and clean the carb with compressed air and carburetor cleaner.

Once the carb is clean you can replace the inlet needle seat and inlet needle.

Before re-installing the carb I would drain and flush the fuel system to ensure the fuel tank and lines are clean.
