Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): JD 312 cutting out aafter driving a few minutes, hp kohler, sectional index

JD 312 riding mower 12 HP Kohler. Had been doing fine. Now I can start it and idles fine, after putting it in drive and driving for a few minutes, it'll start cutting out and have to pull the choke all the way out for it to stay running, which then it still tries to cut out. after stopping and waiting a few minutes, it'll start backup. sometime fine, sometimes still having to be choked. Once cool it's ok or other times spray starting fluid in the carb, it's ok or at least back idling fine. then try to drive it and the same thing after a few minutes back cutting out..
Have taken the gas cap off when idling rough, but did not correct it..Any ideas would be appreicated.

 1- Check the Fuel Pump Pressure. 2- Clean and Rebuild the Carburator. Go to this Addy http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and you can View Online this Mower and the Engine in Breakdown Form. Enter the Model Number 312.
