Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn mower engine, lawn mower engine, air filter

Question
mower has sat for a couple of years. it was running fine when stored.  Using fresh gas and oil and air filter.. did not change the plug.  priming the carb will get the engine to start, until the bowl is empty. engine will not keep running. any suggestions

Answer
Hi Nick,

The carb most likely has dirt, debris or gummed fuel inside.  You will need to remove the carb, disassemble it, clean all the small internal openings and blow it out with compressed air.   Probe each and every hole with a
small wire.   Adding a carb rebuild kit wouldn't hurt either.

Let me know how you make out.
