Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): SWITCH WIRING, red hot wire, snapper riding mower

Question
I JUST REPLACE THE ENGINE ON A OLD SNAPPER RIDING MOWER, IT HAD A PULL CORD START,BUT I'M REPLACEING IT WITH A USED MOTOR WITH A STARTER AND I WANT TO PUT A KEY SWITCH ON IT THE SWITCH HAS 5 PRUNG ON BACK. THE MOWER IT CAME OFF OF HAD SAFTHY SWITCH FOR THE SEAT,ENGAGE & DISENGAGE, AND BRAKE/CLULTH. THE OLD SNAPPER DON'T HAVE THEN. HOW CAN I RUN THE WIRES TO USE THE KEY SWITCH AND DISREGARD THE SAFTHY SWITCH WIRES. THE STARTED HAD THE RED HOT WIRE TO THE SOLINOLD,A RED ONE WITH A FUSEABLE LINK ON IT,AND A YELLOW ONE. MY SOLIOND GOT TWO BIG POST AND A LITTLE ONE ON THE SIDE. I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT WITH ALL THE OTHER WIRES FOR THE SAFLTY SWITCH. THANKS JOHN

Answer
 Hello John:

All the Wires you Need is. 1- One from the Battery to the Ignition Switch(fused). 2- From Ignition Switch to Small Post of Soleniod. This Wire is Hot Only when the Switch is turned to the Start Position. 3- Large Battery Wire from Battery to the Soleniod(goes on one large post of soleniod). 4- Large Wire from the Soleniod to the Starter(goes on other large post of the soleniod). Last you need the Shutoff wire from the Coil. This Goes to the Ignition Switch Post that is Grounded when the Switch is in the Off Position. You will Need a Voltmeter to Check the Leads On the Switch to find out where they will Connect to the Switch. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
